SAN Beda University (SBU) beat Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC), 25-20, 19-25, 25-21, 25-20, to end Shakey’s Super League (SSL) campaign with victory on Sunday at Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Lady Red Spikers’ triumph over the Lady Generals is their only victory in the tournament, ending their campaign with a list of 1-4, dead last in Pool A.
On the other hand, EAC ended their campaign without a win, falling to a 0-5 record in Pool B.
The Lady Red Spikers and Lady Generals were unable to participate in the next round of the tournament.
San Beda had to come back from a 7-12 hole in the third set to win the match, as the Lady Red Spikers sparked a 13-4 run capped by an Abraham kill to take control at 20-16 .
Angel Habacon finally sealed victory for the Mendiola-based side with a kill following an erroneous attack from the Generals who completed their attack that put San Beda on match point.
Habacon led the way for San Beda with 16 points on 13 attacks and three service aces.
