MANILA — The Lady Stags of San Sebastian ended their three-game skid with a crushing victory over the Lady Generals of Emilio Aguinaldo College on Saturday.
The Lady Stags barely sweat as they swept the Lady Generals, 25-13, 25-13, 25-21, at Shakey’s Super League at Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
San Sebastian capped off their Pool B campaign with a 1-3 record while EAC went winless in the competition with a 0-2 card.
Katherine Santos led the Lady Stags with nine points.
After picking up convincing wins in the first two sets, Lady Stags saw closer competition in the third as EAC quickly took a 9-6 lead.
But the San Sebastian team fought back to level the game at 9 after a strike through the middle from Kristine Dionisio.
They finally overtook the Lady Generals after an attacking error from their opponent, 14-11. Two aces from Ann Formento threatened a comeback for the EAC side, 16-17.
Tina Marasigan pushed the SSC-R closer to victory as she spiked through the block for a 22-19 split.
Marasigan would score a crucial service ace to put his side to match point, 24-21.
